Fruges Arena practical guide

How to Install PVC Strip Curtains

Follow the narrated guide for the conventional hanging system. Customers using Ready-to-Install strips can skip the cutting and plate-fitting stages where their strips are already prepared.

Before you start: confirm the opening measurements, selected PVC specification and fixing method. This guide explains the installation sequence.

Installation steps

  1. 1

    Measure each opening

Measure the full width and height of every opening separately. Record the dimensions carefully before cutting or drilling.

  2. 2

    Prepare your tools and PPE

Have a measuring tape, marker and square, sharp knife or PVC shears, drill, spirit level, hand tools, suitable fixings and appropriate personal protective equipment ready.

  3. 3

    Choose one floor-clearance method

Either use approximately the full measured strip length and position the hanger about 50 mm above the opening, or position the hanger around the top of the opening and shorten the strips by about 30-50 mm where appropriate. Use one method only - not both.

  4. 4

    Prepare the hanger rail

Check the required coverage. Trim only the final rail if necessary, keeping the cut edge neat and free from sharp burrs.

  5. 5

    Measure and cut conventional strips

On a clean, flat surface, measure the required strip length, mark the cut square across the strip, cut neatly and verify the finished length. Ready-to-Install strips that are already cut and plated can skip this step.

  6. 6

    Fit the hanging plates

Fit each hanging plate squarely on the top edge of its strip. Align the fixing holes, insert the bolts and nuts, and tighten them securely.

  7. 7

    Mount the hanger rail

Position the rail at the selected height, mark the fixing points, drill the holes and secure the rail with suitable wall fixings. Confirm that it is secure and level before hanging the strips.

  8. 8

Hang the strips with the standard overlap

Hang the first strip normally. For each following strip, place its first slot on the same hanger hook used by the final slot of the previous plate. Continue this one-hole overlap pattern across the opening. On the Fruges hanging system, the standard one-hole overlap is approximately 37 mm on each side. The same hanging method applies to 200 mm and 300 mm strips. If your application needs increased overlap, contact Fruges Arena before installation.

  9. 9

    Complete the final checks

Check that the rail is secure and level, the overlap is consistent, the floor clearance is correct and the curtain moves freely.

Plan your PVC strip curtain

Confirm the opening details and installation requirements, then request a quotation when you are ready. If the installation requires a non-standard overlap or you are unsure about the application, send the project for staff review.
