Conventional vs Ready-to-Install PVC Strip Curtains

The practical difference is how much cutting and plate fitting your team still needs to complete on site.

The short version

Conventional and Ready-to-Install are not two completely different curtain systems. They use the same basic hanging principle; the practical difference is how much cutting and plate fitting your team still has to do when the material reaches site.

  • Conventional - PVC rolls plus complete hanging sets. Strips are measured, cut and fitted with hanging plates on site.
  • Ready-to-Install - prepared strips for a qualifying opening, with plates already fitted and the applicable hanging system supplied as the kit.

When conventional rolls make sense

Conventional buyers still need hanging hardware. Fruges sells complete hanging sets as the customer product; quotations show the actual sellable hanger-set sizes and quantities, not loose clips and bolts.

  • Several openings where conventional material can be pooled across the project.
  • A large, irregular or non-qualifying opening.
  • An installer who is comfortable measuring, cutting PVC square and fitting hanging plates on site.
  • A project where roll remainder may be useful for later replacement strips.

When Ready-to-Install makes sense

Ready-to-Install makes sense when you want prepared strips and the applicable hanging system with less cutting and plate fitting on site. If you already know the standard kit height you need, browse the Ready-to-Install kits and request a quotation directly. If you need help confirming fit for an opening, use the PVC calculator.

You can mix both in one project

A project does not have to be entirely conventional or entirely Ready-to-Install. One qualifying opening can use a prepared kit while other openings stay conventional. The website project keeps them together while calculating them correctly.

Magnetic PVC is separate

Magnetic PVC uses different system rules and should not appear as a third self-service option inside the conventional/RTI calculator. Customers interested in magnetic curtains should use the dedicated magnetic product/article route.

Next step

Continue with the right product route

Use the PVC calculator to compare the available route for each opening. If you are unsure whether a doorway qualifies, enter the full width and height rather than trying to decide from a product photograph.
