PVC Strip Curtains in Nigeria: Types, Overlap and How to Choose
Choose a PVC strip curtain from the doorway, traffic, strip size and supply route—not simply the thickest roll.
System comparison
Magnetic PVC is a separate system. It does not use the conventional overlap, hanger or Ready-to-Install rules.
The short version
PVC strip curtains are the flexible overlapping strips you see across many factory, warehouse, workshop and other busy industrial openings. They let people, trolleys and, when correctly specified, vehicles pass through without operating a solid door each time. The right choice starts with the doorway and traffic - not simply with the thickest roll available.
- 2 mm x 200 mm - lighter pedestrian-oriented option.
- 3 mm x 200 mm - Fruges' normal general-purpose starting point and a widely used transparent-blue specification.
- 3 mm x 300 mm - wider strip option for larger or more demanding openings where the configuration supports it.
- Conventional - rolls plus complete hanging sets; cutting and plate fitting are completed on site.
- Ready-to-Install - prepared strips and the applicable hanging system for a qualifying opening.
- Magnetic - a separate curtain system with different rules; it is not a third choice inside the conventional/RTI calculator.
Start with the doorway and traffic
Measure the full opening width and height, then look at the real traffic. A small staff doorway is not the same job as a busy loading-bay opening used by trolleys or forklifts. Fruges uses 3 mm as the normal minimum starting point where forklift or vehicle traffic is involved; final suitability still depends on the opening and duty.
Overlap is part of the system
Fruges' standard conventional configuration uses a one-hole plate overlap of approximately 37 mm at each side connection. That overlap affects strip count and material requirement. If a project needs increased overlap, contact Fruges before installation because the requirement changes.
Choose the supply route
Conventional rolls are useful for multiple openings, larger or irregular openings and sites where installers are comfortable cutting and fitting plates. Ready-to-Install reduces on-site preparation for qualifying openings. Magnetic PVC should be assessed separately.
Do not deduct floor clearance when measuring
Send the full height of the opening. Floor clearance is handled during installation; deducting it before calculation can produce the wrong supply length.
